Dear CCSD 46 Community,

I am very pleased to share that at last week’s Board of Education meeting, we presented our new district logo, along with the process that was used to select a theme for the logo, and the ongoing work regarding “branding” for our school district. The full presentation to the Board of Education can be viewed here. If you have not seen the new logo yet, you can view it here.

Of course, branding is more than just a logo. A brand is about defining the story that each person in the district and the larger community play a role in telling each day.

The new logo encompasses the spirit in which the district is moving. We are rooted in our community with each leaf of the tree representing one of the seven communities we serve. The figure in the tree represents the welcoming open arms of our school community. The logo mark reminds us to be joyous, kind, and embrace the wonder of learning set amongst the unique natural beauty of our Lake County landscape.

The rollout process and transition to the new logo will be ongoing over the coming months. We are excited to share that social media profiles have already been updated and you will continue to see the new district logo in various places in the coming weeks.

Along with this new logo comes a new branding guide for the district. The branding guide will serve as our roadmap for all stakeholders on when and how the new logo can be used. This will help ensure consistency when representing our schools and district. The full branding guide will be available on the CCSD 46 website in the coming days.

We are also happy to share an online store that is open now and filled with a variety of merchandise with the new district logo. Please view the store here. Note: all orders must be placed by May 16th and will be received prior to the end of the school year. The online store will open again in the fall.

As was mentioned during the presentation to the Board, we are also refreshing our individual school mascots. We are not changing the actual mascot figure, but the colors and designs will be refreshed to maintain a consistent feel across the district. Those refreshed mascot graphics will be shared out at the schools prior to the end of this school year. We are also still hard at work on our new website, which is expected to be ready by the start of the 22-23 school year.

Communication is very important to us; in fact, unified, accessible communication is one of the goal areas that was defined through our Strategic Plan. Thank you so much to all of the CCSD 46 stakeholders who provided input and feedback for our new logo which helps us to communicate our Mission, Vision, and Values! Very soon, we will be coming back to you with another brief survey that will help us to better understand how to best communicate with you through social media.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lynn Glickman
Superintendent
CCSD 46

Atentamente,

Dra. Lynn Glickman
