Incoming 5th Graders School Supply Orders
For incoming 5th graders at Frederick School - Start planning for the 2011-2012 school year now! You'll be ahead of the game when you order your school supplies now and help support Frederick School. 100% of the profits from the school supply sale go directly back into the Frederick PTO budget to be used for fine arts events, field trips, curriculum enrichment and so much more!

Lake County Transportation Alert
We have been notified by the Lake County Department of Transportation that Washington Street will close for 5 days due to railroad crossing repair. The crossing will be closed from 7:00 AM on May 31, through Saturday, June 4. CCSD 46 bus routes will be slightly disrupted during this closing. Frederick School
Summer Academy Registration is here! Please download the course listing and registration forms. Summer Academy is open to all District 46 students who could benefit from remedial courses or wish to participage in enrichment classes. Bus service is not available for Summer Academy, transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Early registration is encouraged. Classes will be filled in the order in which the registrations are received. Registrations can be mailed or delivered to Park Campus, 400 W. Townline Road, Round Lake, IL 60073. Phone registrations will not be accepted. All courses are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, which is determined by the date the registration form is received by your child's school or by the Summer Academy directors. A student's current grade level is used to register for Summer Academy programs.
Tuition for each class is $85.00. If received by April 21, the tuition is $80.00. There will be no refunds given after June 15, 2011. CCSD 46 reserves the right to cancel any course that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements. Students and Parents will receive course confirmation by the first week of June.

More Information on All Day Kindergarten:
District 46 will be piloting an All Day Kindergarten program beginning in August of 2011. We are hoping to house the program in each of the following schools: Avon, Prairieview, Woodview, Meadowview and Park Campus. At this time, we are accepting a $500 deposit that would be deducted from the $3500 tuition cost. If the programs do not move forward, the $500 would be refunded.
- The tuition may be paid monthly.
- Our current kindergarten curriculum is based on a full day program, but is modified for half day.
- Students will NOT have lots of down time or play time.
- If you qualify for bus service, transportation will be provided.
- If you chose to go to another building due to the fact that the classes are full, you would be responsible for the transportation.
We are pleased to be able to offer parents another opportunity for kindergarten. We realize that there are many other options in the community.

Fourth Grade Parents - Frederick School Information
4th Grade Parents
If you know of any 4th grade parents not receiving this e-mail, please feel free to pass on the following information. Please also download the flyers that accompany this email.
Band:
This past week, the CCSD 46 Band Instructors stopped at all four elementary buildings to allow the students to tryout some of the band instruments and find out who might be interested in playing in the band next year. There will be an informational meeting for parents on Wednesday, June 2nd from 5-8 PM at Frederick School.
Parent Orientation:
Wednesday, June 2nd is also our 4th grade parent orientation. Parents of fourth graders are encouraged to attend one of the two sessions offered on that day at Frederick School. The first session runs from 9:15-10:30 AM and the second session runs from 7-8:15 PM. Parents are encouraged to learn a little more about Frederick School and to take a tour of the building.
Kick-Off Camp:
Kick-Off Camp registration is currently being accepted. Kick-Off Camp is for all incoming 5th graders and runs August 10-13 from 9 AM to 12:15 PM. The camp is designed to help incoming 5th graders feel comfortable with the transition to Frederick School and is run by the 5th grade teachers. Download the flyer.
E-Mail Updates:
Parents who are currently subscribed to the district's e-News off of the website are encouraged to add Frederick School to their group list so they can receive updates on the upcoming 2010-11 School year. To update your e-News groups, click the e-News icon on the district website (www.d46.org) and enter in your email address. You will be sent instructions on how to edit your group preferences. Make sure to add Frederick School.
Summer Reading and Math Packets:
Next week we will be distributing a summer reading novel and math packet to all 4th grade students at Avon, Meadowview, Prairieview, and Woodview Schools. The students learned about the books that are being offered this summer during their tour of Frederick School and were asked to make a first and second choice. Both the math packet and the novel will serve as opening discussion points in their new classrooms next year and will hopefully help to keep their reading and math skills fresh over the summer. There will also be information included on an opportunity for students who read up to 8 books over the summer, to earn a free book.
Registration:
Please download the information regarding registration for next school year.
1) Registration fees paid on or before June 18 for students in grades 1-8 will receive a $25.00 discount.
2) All CCSD 46 families will still need to visit the Continuing Student Registration at Frederick School August 10-12
3) All incoming 6th graders are required to have a physical and dental examination in order to start school in August 2010.
